Hello, I'm Tameka, the founder of Kofi Kreations.

As a special needs teacher and a mother of three, I've spent over 20 years nurturing and guiding children. Every day, I'm inspired by the resilience, creativity, and spirit of the young minds I work with. My journey with Kofi Kreations began out of a simple, yet frustrating, challenge: finding suitable hair accessories for my daughter's unique hair. Everything I tried was either too tight, too flimsy, or just didn’t do her justice.

Driven by my passion for empowering young girls and inspired by my experience as an educator, I decided to create something better. I started crafting extra-large scrunchies and unique, comfortable hair bows that not only stayed in place but also made my daughters feel beautiful and confident. What began as a personal project quickly transformed into a mission to help other moms and daughters experience the same joy.

Kofi Kreations is named after the Ghanaian word "Kofi," meaning "born on Friday"—the very day I crafted my first bow. The positive feedback from other moms fueled my passion, and I realized that what worked for my own children could bring smiles to many more.
